Zamalek has initiated steps to finalize the acquisition of Mohamed Shokry from Tala’a El-Gaish during the ongoing winter transfer market.
According to FilGoal.com sources, Zamalek believes that Shokry’s inclusion will be advantageous, particularly for the Confederation Cup.
The player had previously reached an agreement with Zamalek in the summer, but the deal did not materialize due to registration suspension.
Now, during the winter transfer window, Zamalek aims to secure the deal.
Shokry, 23, is a member of Egypt’s Olympic team and played a role in the qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This season, the midfielder participated in 10 matches without scoring or assisting.
Since his promotion to the first team, Shokry has played 95 matches, scoring three goals, including his first against Zamalek.
Zamalek is also contemplating the addition of Yasser Wadid from Tala’a El-Gaish, following his impressive performance since joining the team on loan at the beginning of the season from Tersana.
Wadid, 25, plays as a winger and left-back. In 12 matches this season, he scored two goals and provided two assists in 11 games.
On the other hand, Tala’a El-Gaish is reluctant to part ways with the duo, Abdel Rahman Osama “Shika” and Yasser Wadid, to Zamalek, especially as the two players are on loan from the military production and Tersana clubs, respectively.
FilGoal.com previously revealed that Abdel Rahman Osama had reached an agreement with Zamalek to join the team.
However, both clubs have not yet reached a final agreement before the end of the winter transfer market.
Osama, the midfielder, participated in 10 matches this season in the league, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
In total, with Tala’a El-Gaish, he played 54 matches, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
With the Production Club, he played 41 matches, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
