Antonio Rudiger calm over Real Madrid contract uncertainty
Antonio Rudiger says he feels deeply valued at Real Madrid even though his contract is due to expire this summer and the club have not yet put a new offer on the table.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Manchester City, the German defender made it clear he is not letting his future become a distraction.
“I feel loved here [at Real Madrid],” Rudiger said when asked about the situation. “But sometimes you have to make decisions not based on emotions. But right now I don’t even have time to think about this.” For him, staying fit and available is the priority: “For me, the most important thing is to be healthy. And I am now. The rest, we will solve it. We don’t have to think about it right now.”
Rudiger has been a key part of Madrid’s back line since arriving from Chelsea, earning a strong connection with the fans and coaching staff alike. While speculation over his next move is bound to grow as the summer approaches, his focus, at least for now, is locked on helping Real Madrid chase more trophies.
