Al Ahly youngster Ibrahim Al-Asyuti suffers cruciate ligament injury
Al Ahly defender Ibrahim Al-Asyuti has been diagnosed with a partial cruciate ligament tear following recent medical examinations.
Sharing his thoughts on the injury via social media, Al-Asyuti wrote: “Praise be to God until He is pleased, praise be to God when He is pleased, praise be to God after He is pleased. God’s trials are a blessing for us, and all of God’s decrees are good… Partial tear in the cruciate ligament,” signalling his acceptance and resilience in the face of the setback.
Al Ahly had earlier confirmed that teammate Karim Fouad also sustained a partial cruciate ligament tear.
The injuries come at a critical moment, with the Egyptian Premier League’s championship stage draw setting Al Ahly up for a challenging final phase in a fiercely contested title race.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly will return to continental competition this weekend, where they travel to play ES Tunis in the first leg of the CAF Champions League on Sunday.
