Guela Doue backs PSG while shining for Strasbourg

Guela Doue may be a key player for Racing Club Strasbourg, but his heart still beats strongly for Paris Saint-Germain, where his younger brother Desire Doue now plays.

The 23-year-old right-back has become an automatic starter in Alsace, yet he remains an enthusiastic PSG supporter.

According to L’Equipe, Doue’s passion for the Parisian club even led him to ask Strasbourg’s hierarchy last season for permission to travel to London to watch PSG face Arsenal. His request was turned down, underlining the reality and demands of professional football despite his fan loyalties.

Ahead of this week’s Champions League round-of-16 tie between PSG and Chelsea, there is no doubt where his support lies. The report states that Guela will be firmly behind PSG, even though Strasbourg and Chelsea share the same ownership group.

L’Equipe also notes that Guela has several friends inside the PSG dressing room, giving him even more reason to follow the game closely. He is expected to watch the first leg from Croatia, where Strasbourg will already be preparing for their own Europa League last-16 clash against Rijeka on Thursday.
