Al Ahly players slapped with financial penalties after loss to Tala’ea El-Gaish

A board member of Al-Ahly Club and deputy supervisor of the football sector, Sayed Abdel-Hafiz, has expressed his frustration following the first team’s 2-1 defeat to Tala’ea El-Gaish at the Military Academy Stadium in the Egyptian Premier League.

Watching from the main stand, Abdel-Hafiz was visibly displeased with both the performance of the players and the result, which cost the team three vital points in the title race.

After the game, he contacted the club’s football director to deliver a stern message to the squad in the locker room, highlighting his disappointment with the team’s recent drop in form.

He called for sharp criticism of the players and emphasised the need for greater focus on the pitch to avoid dropping points unnecessarily.

Abdel-Hafiz also confirmed that the club would enforce its disciplinary measures, including financial penalties, to instill discipline and reinforce commitment ahead of the league’s crucial stages.

The actions reflect Al-Ahly’s broader strategy to quickly recalibrate the team as they face mounting pressure in the competition.
