Sources have dismissed recent reports suggesting that Bayern Munich are planning a move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Speculation had circulated in recent days claiming the German giants were considering the Nigerian striker as a potential addition to their attack.

However, Falk, who serves as head of football at Bild, insists there is no truth to the rumours.

According to journalist Christian Falke, Bayern’s leadership is already aware of the speculation but has no intention of pursuing a deal for Osimhen.

He explained that the rumours largely stem from the striker’s release clause, which can reportedly be triggered by several top European clubs, including Bayern.

“They are aware of these rumors, and it’s related to the fact that Osimhen’s contract contains a release clause that can be activated by several top clubs, including Bayern Munich. However, Bayern Munich feels somewhat exploited by this. Perhaps his agents are fueling the rumors, but in reality, there is no interest from the reigning Bundesliga champions,” Falk said.

Falk also addressed claims that Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany had requested the club to sign Osimhen as a future replacement for Harry Kane.

He rejected the suggestion, stating that Bayern’s priority remains extending Kane’s stay rather than planning for a successor. According to Falk, the club is determined to avoid speculation about replacing their current star striker and therefore has no immediate need for Osimhen.

“Furthermore, the last article I read stated that Vincent Kompany had personally asked Bayern bosses to sign Osimhen as Harry Kane’s successor. But Bayern Munich desperately wants to avoid precisely this situation. They want to extend Kane’s contract. Rumours that they’ve already decided on a successor don’t interest them. They don’t need that right now. And they don’t need Victor Osimhen either,” he added.
