Franco-Cameroonian star Kylian Mbappe faces backlash after Paris night out amid injury concerns
France international of Cameroonian descent, Kylian Mbappé find himself at the centre of criticism after being spotted in Paris during Real Madrid’s crucial La Liga clash against Getafe last Monday.
Mbappe is currently sidelined with a sprain in his left knee, an injury that has ruled him out of the club’s last two matches and is expected to keep him off the pitch for around three weeks.
And as part of his recovery process, the former Paris Saint Germain star travelled to the French capital for further treatment.
However, the striker was seen enjoying an evening out with close friend and Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi while his teammates were battling in a high-stakes league encounter.
In his absence, the Spanish giants succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Getafe, denting their chances of winning the La Liga this season.
This has sparked debate, particularly after Real Madrid’s defeat widened the gap to league leaders Barcelona to four points in the title race.
Mbappé and Hakimi share a strong friendship dating back to their time together at Paris Saint-Germain, before Mbappé’s high-profile move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.
While there has been no suggestion of disciplinary action from the club, the episode has intensified discussion about professionalism, optics, and the pressures that come with being one of world football’s most scrutinized figures.
