Arsenal make initial inquiry as part of move to sign Italian-Nigerian defender Michael Kayode

English outfit Arsenal F.C. have reportedly made an initial enquiry as they explore the possibility of signing Italian-Nigerian defender Michael Kayode from Brentford F.C..

The Gunners are said to be assessing right-back options amid growing speculation that Ben White could depart before the 2026/27 season. With that uncertainty in mind, Mikel Arteta’s side have identified Kayode as a strong candidate for the role, following his impressive displays throughout the current campaign.

Kayode has been instrumental in Brentford’s standout 2025/26 season, delivering consistent performances that have not gone unnoticed across Europe. According to Fichajes, the Italy international has attracted significant interest from several top clubs due to his development and reliability at the back.

Although the defender is contracted for another four years beyond this summer, Brentford are reportedly open to negotiations if Arsenal table an offer that aligns with their valuation.

With the North London club beginning groundwork early, the situation could develop into one of the key transfer stories ahead of 2026.
