Samuel Eto’o has announced his retirement from international football, ending his career with the Cameroon national team. Despite Cameroon’s qualification for the last round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, Eto’o has decided not to play in his third World Cup. The announcement comes as Eto’o takes on a new role as the godfather of Paris SC. Aurelien Chedjou, who scored the only goal in Cameroon’s victory against Libya, expressed regret over losing Eto’o’s leadership in the team.
