Botola Pro 1: AS FAR goalkeeper Reda Tagnaouti in danger if missing Wydad Athletic Club clash

Reda Tagnaouti is in danger of missing the highly anticipated Clasico showdown between AS FAR and Wydad Athletic Club on Wednesday, as concerns grow over the injury he sustained in the Rabat derby.

The goalkeeper picked up the knock during AS FAR’s league encounter with Ittihad Touarga in the 13th round of the Professional League. His absence was already felt last Friday when he was left out of the squad for the match against CODM Meknes, with Ayoub Khayati stepping in between the posts.

According to Moroccan outlet Al-Ahdath Al-Maghribia, the AS FAR medical team is working intensively to speed up Tagnaouti’s recovery in the hope of having him fit for the crucial encounter. The Rabat-based side is determined to have their first-choice goalkeeper available for what promises to be a defining fixture in the title race.

AS FAR will also be without Tawfiq Razqou, who suffered an injury during the clash with Meknes Club, further compounding the team’s selection concerns ahead of the trip to Casablanca.

There is, however, some positive news for the military side. Both Reda Slim and Zinedine Derrak have completed their recovery and are expected to be available for selection against Wydad.

The much-anticipated fixture will see Wydad host AS FAR at the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca on Wednesday, with kick-off scheduled for 10 p.m. All eyes will now be on Tagnaouti’s fitness as the countdown to the Clasico continues.
