Casablanca’s Arabi Zawali Stadium is set to undergo renovations lasting between eight to nine months, rendering it unavailable for Wydad and Raja matches, a source confirmed to “Hesport.”
A reliable insider revealed that Arabi Zawali Stadium won’t be able to host matches for Wydad and Raja due to extensive renovations across its various facilities.
These renovations are expected to span at least eight to nine months, preventing the two prominent football clubs from utilizing the stadium during this period.
The same source clarified that the renovation works would commence shortly to prepare the stadium during the specified timeframe.
This development implies that the stadium won’t be available for hosting matches involving the Casablanca football giants.
Wydad and Raja currently face challenges finding a suitable venue for their league matches.
They are compelled to play in alternate stadiums such as Mohammedia, Berrechid, and New Stadium.
Additionally, the Grand Stade de Marrakech, a major venue where the “Red” team played its CAF Champions League matches this season, has also been part of their temporary solutions.
It’s worth noting that several national stadiums are undergoing significant renovations in preparation for Morocco hosting the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025.
The ongoing improvements aim to enhance the facilities and infrastructure of these stadiums ahead of the prestigious continental tournament.
