Pep Guardiola hails Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo's impact at Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised Ghana international Antoine Semenyo for his immediate impact since joining the club.

Semenyo, who moved from AFC Bournemouth in January, delivered a decisive performance at Elland Road, scoring the only goal as City secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United.

“When you buy players, there’s always an expectation, but you never know the exact impact. Antoine’s contribution has been outstanding, not just in terms of goals,” Guardiola remarked after the match.

The manager also expressed uncertainty over Erling Haaland’s return, adding, “I wish he would come back; I don’t know when that will be.”

With ten key fixtures remaining, the Ghana international looks set to take on a leading role as City aim to close the gap on the league leaders.

The forward now boasts 14 goals and four assists in 27 Premier League appearances this season.
