Winner of 2025/26 CAF Confederation to receive $4 million
The winner of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup will earn a record $4 million after the Confederation of African Football approved a significant increase in prize money for the continent’s second-tier club competition.
Under the revised structure, the champion’s reward has doubled from $2 million to $4 million, marking one of the most substantial financial upgrades in the tournament’s history.
The decision was endorsed during a CAF Executive Committee meeting in February and supported by CAF president Patrice Motsepe as part of efforts to strengthen African club football.
The new financial package takes effect immediately and applies to the latter stages of the current 2025/26 season. CAF has confirmed that the total prize fund for the Confederation Cup now stands at $11.9 million, reflecting the governing body’s improved commercial performance.
Beyond the top prize, clubs participating in the competition will also benefit from enhanced financial support. The participation grant for teams eliminated in the preliminary rounds has been increased from $50,000 to $100,000, a move intended to ease operational and travel costs, particularly for smaller sides competing across the continent.
Confederation Cup
Winner – $4,000,000
Runner-up – $1,000,000
Semi-finalists – $750,000
Quarter-finalists – $550,000
3rd & 4th in group stage – $400,000

CAF attributes the prize money expansion to a return to profitability, driven by growth in television rights agreements and sponsorship revenues. The governing body believes the increased rewards will raise the profile of the competition, improve competitiveness, and provide greater financial stability for clubs.
With a $4 million incentive now at stake, the race for Confederation Cup glory promises to be more intense than ever as clubs chase both continental recognition and a transformative financial reward.
