Trevoh Chalobah urges Chelsea to be more ruthless after Burnley setback

Trevoh Chalobah has backed Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior’s call for the team to become more clinical after a frustrating 1-1 draw against Burnley.

The Blues once again dropped points despite dominating large spells, continuing a worrying trend from their recent games.

“It’s what we’ve struggled with in the last two games,” Chalobah admitted, reflecting on Chelsea’s inability to turn pressure into goals.

“We have had so many chances. It’s what we need to work on going forward – how to kill teams off. We have got one of the highest xGs in the league and we’re not capitalising on that.”

The defender also pointed to the impact of the red card shown to Chelsea, saying: “Red cards change games and it made it difficult for us. Conceding at the end was a killer because I thought we defended well until that point.”

Despite the setback, Chalobah stressed the importance of looking ahead rather than dwelling on dropped points.

“We’re focusing on ourselves and we have to move on to the next game and not worry about other people. This game’s gone now. We’ll focus on the next game because it’s another big one coming up.”

Chalobah has played 26 games and scored three goals in the Premier League this season.
