Mali FA announces date for new Executive Committee election
Malian Football Federation has confirmed the timetable for electing a new Executive Committee following the resignation of the leadership previously headed by Mamoutou Touré.
In a statement dated 20 February, the federation’s Secretary General — currently overseeing daily operations under the supervision of FIFA and CAF — detailed the stages that will lead to the appointment of a new president and governing team.
The electoral process will begin on 26 February with the official opening of candidacies.
Prospective candidates will then have until 17 March to submit their applications for consideration.
After examination of the submitted files, the federation will publish the final list of approved candidates on 1 April.
This step will determine who is eligible to contest the leadership of Malian football.
The process will culminate in the elective general assembly scheduled for 16 April, when delegates will vote to choose the federation’s new Executive Committee.
Four days later, on 19 April, the successful candidates will formally assume their duties after taking the oath of office.
The election follows the departure of the previous administration and is intended to restore a stable governance structure within the national football body.
Until the vote takes place, day-to-day management remains under temporary supervision in accordance with international football authorities.
By publishing the calendar in advance, the federation aims to provide clarity over the procedure and ensure transparency in the transition.
Each stage — from nominations to the final vote — has been scheduled to allow verification and confirmation before the handover of power.
The April assembly will therefore mark the final step in a structured process designed to establish new leadership and set the direction of Malian football for the coming years.
