Former Nigeria forward Ahmed Musah rejoins Kano Pillars squad ahead of El-Kanemi Warriors clash
Experienced Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa has rejoined his Kano Pillars teammates ahead of their crucial Nigeria Premier Football League against El-Kanemi Warriors F.C.
The former Super Eagles captain had been absent from recent matches due to family-related commitments, leaving the Sai Masu Gida without one of their most experienced figures during a demanding stretch of the campaign.
His return comes as a timely boost for the Kano-based side as they prepare for Sunday’s encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Musa’s presence is expected to add leadership, attacking threat and valuable experience to the squad as Pillars look to strengthen their position in the league standings. Known for his pace, movement and eye for goal, the veteran forward remains a key influence both on and off the pitch.
With the business end of the NPFL season approaching, Kano Pillars will be hoping Musa’s return can inspire a strong performance against El-Kanemi Warriors in front of their home supporters.
Musa recently announced his retirement from international football, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable Super Eagles career that spanned nearly 15 years.
Musah made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2010 and established himself as a key member of the team, playing an integral role in their 2013 AFCON triumph.
Currently, Musah holds the record as the player with the most appearances for the Nigeria national team. In his 15-year career, the enterprising attacker racked up 111 appearances and scored 18 goals.
Musa’s international journey began when he made his Super Eagles debut in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Madagascar on September 5, 2010, announcing himself as one of the brightest young talents in Nigerian football at the time.
