Senegal coach Lamine Ndiaye arrives in Algeria to seal USM Alger deal
USM Alger are poised to appoint experienced Senegalese tactician Lamine Ndiaye as their new head coach, with the veteran trainer expected to steer the club through the remainder of the season.
As reported earlier this week, Ndiaye has arrived in Algeria and is currently in the capital to finalise the terms of his contract with the Algiers-based side. The agreement is expected to run for six months, with an option to extend depending on performances and results.
The appointment signals USM Alger’s intent to stabilise their campaign and push strongly in the second half of the season, both domestically and on the continental stage in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Ndiaye brings with him vast experience across African football, having worked with several top clubs on the continent. His résumé includes spells at TP Mazembe, where he ended his tenure in January 2026, as well as AC Léopards in the Republic of Congo, MAS Fès in Morocco, Al Hilal of Sudan and Horoya AC of Guinea.
Renowned for his deep understanding of African competitions and his ability to manage high-pressure environments, the Senegalese coach is seen as a safe and strategic choice for USM Alger as they seek renewed momentum.
Club officials are hopeful that Ndiaye’s tactical know-how and wealth of experience will inject fresh energy into the squad, strengthen their league push and enhance their chances of progressing further in the CAF Confederation Cup during the decisive phase of the season.
