Bukayo Saka disappointed after late Wolves equaliser
Bukayo Saka admitted he was left frustrated after Arsenal let a two-goal lead slip in a 2-2 draw away to Wolves in the Premier League.
The winger opened the scoring early on and watched Piero Hincapié double the advantage, only for Wolves to fight back and snatch a stoppage-time equaliser at Molineux.
“Disappointed. Not much else to say. There was a big difference in how we played in the first half and the second half. We dropped our standards and we got punished for it,” Saka reflected after the game.
He insisted the result was not down to nerves, instead stressing that the team must raise their level in the run-in. “Time to focus on ourselves, improve our standards and improve our performances and it is in our control,” he added.
Despite the setback, Arsenal remain top of the table on 58 points after 27 games, holding a narrow lead in a fiercely contested title race.
Next up is a huge North London derby away to Tottenham on February 22 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a fixture that could prove crucial in keeping their momentum and belief intact.
