Serhou Guirassy has reignited his season for Borussia Dortmund, producing a string of decisive performances since the start of February.
The striker was pivotal in Dortmund’s 2-0 victory over Atalanta BC in the first leg of their Champions League playoff, opening the scoring in the third minute and providing the assist for the second goal in the 42nd minute.
His contribution marked the latest highlight in a month of resurgence for the Guinean international.
Guirassy’s revival began on 1 February 2026, during the 20th matchday of the Bundesliga against Heidenheim, where he scored twice within a single minute to help Dortmund secure a 3-2 win.
He continued this momentum in the following fixtures, netting the decisive goal against VfL Wolfsburg to make it 2-1, and scoring a brace in a 4-0 victory over 1. FSV Mainz 05 a week later.
Across all competitions in February, Guirassy has recorded six goals and one assist in four matches, providing a sharp contrast to an inconsistent first half of the season.
Overall, the striker now totals 16 goals and four assists in 33 appearances, compared with 34 goals and six assists in 45 matches during the 2024-25 season.
His recent form suggests a potential turning point, with Guirassy increasingly influencing matches and producing key moments that can shift results in Dortmund’s favour.
If he maintains this momentum, it could set the stage for a strong finish to the campaign and reaffirm his status as one of the team’s most effective attacking players.
The coming weeks will test whether this resurgence is sustainable, but for now, Guirassy’s performances have restored confidence in his ability to deliver consistently at the highest level.
