Algerian midfielder Badredine Bouanani is reportedly on the verge of joining FC Lorient. The potential move comes in the form of a loan without a purchase option, with the final negotiations primarily focusing on salary distribution.

Bouanani, seeking an opportunity for regular game time, has faced limited opportunities at OGC Nice during the 2022-23 season and continues to grapple with a lack of playing minutes.

Amid a challenging season marked by injuries and coach’s decisions, the Algerian international has featured in just nine games, accumulating a total of 172 minutes on the field.

The impending move to FC Lorient signifies Bouanani’s quest for a fresh start and a chance to contribute actively on the pitch. FC Lorient, currently navigating the challenges of Ligue 1, emerges as a potential destination for the 19-year-old winger.

Sources indicate that negotiations between OGC Nice and FC Lorient have been ongoing for several weeks, with both clubs aligning on the fundamental principle of a loan arrangement without an option for a permanent transfer.

The player himself has reportedly given the green light to the move, signaling his eagerness to join FC Lorient and embrace new opportunities in the Brittany region.

The remaining details to be ironed out are centered around the specifics of Bouanani’s salary distribution. It’s worth noting that the Algerian midfielder’s existing contract with OGC Nice extends until 2027, underscoring the potential for a temporary stint with FC Lorient as a pivotal juncture in his career.
