The Cote d’Ivoire national football team is set to shift its base from Abidjan to Yamoussoukro. The Elephants, currently in Group A of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, are making this transition to enhance their preparations for the critical match scheduled for Monday.
According to reliable sources, the national team, representing the host country, will depart from Abidjan on Sunday to reach Yamoussoukro, the political capital of Ivory Coast.
The team’s accommodation will be at the Parliamentary Hotel, previously utilized by Gambia and Guinea during the tournament.
This venue serves as the second designated location by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for national teams.
The training ground for the Elephants will be situated at the Institut National Polytechnique Houphouët Boigny (INPHB) in the southern zone.
This site was reserved during the group phase in Cameroon and will now play a crucial role in fine-tuning the team’s strategies and preparations.
In contrast, the Teranga Lions, the Senegalese national team, will continue their stay at the President Hotel and utilize the annex ground of the Charles-Konnan-Banny stadium for training sessions.
The respective coaches, Aliou Cissé for Senegal and Emerse Fae for Ivory Coast, are scheduled to face the press tomorrow.
This Sunday, both coaches will conduct press conferences, providing insights and previews of the much-anticipated match.
As the countdown to the encounter intensifies, the transition to Yamoussoukro signifies the Elephants’ commitment to optimizing their resources for a successful campaign in AFCON 2023.
