The road to continental glory for Africa’s elite clubs has been mapped out following the official 2025/26 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League quarter-final draw held on Tuesday.
The headline act of the knockout phase is a colossal North African showdown between Moroccan powerhouse AS FAR and Egyptian giants Pyramids FC.
Both teams emerged from the group stages in formidable form, and their meeting is widely considered the standout fixture of the round. Pyramids, seeking their second Champions League title after a historic title last season, will face an AS FAR side that has been a dominant force in Moroccan football this season.
Another blockbuster encounter sees record champions Al Ahly FC paired against Sudan’s Al Hilal SC. Al Ahly secured their spot as Group B winners but face a stern test in an Al Hilal side that topped Group C and has proven to be a difficult opponent on the continental stage.
South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn against Mali’s Stade Malien. Sundowns, who qualified as runners-up from Group C, will travel to Bamako for the first leg before hosting the return fixture in Pretoria.
The final quarter-final pairing features Morocco’s RS Berkane taking on Tunisia’s Espérance Sportive de Tunis, another clash between two former champions.
The quarter-final first-leg matches are scheduled for March 13–15, 2026, with the decisive return legs taking place a week later on March 20–22.
The semi-final bracket was also confirmed, ensuring that the winners of the ASFAR vs. Pyramids tie will face either RS Berkane or Al Hilal for a place in the final.
The prestigious two-legged final is set to take place in May 2026, with the first leg on May 15 and the second on May 24.
