Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti has warned that Nigeria and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen remains a constant danger to any defense.
Spalletti, who coached Osimhen for three seasons at Napoli, spoke ahead of Juventus’ UEFA Champions League knockout clash with Galatasaray tonight at 7:45 pm GMT.
The first leg of the playoff, which will determine a place in the round of 16, takes place at Rams Park in Istanbul.
In a pre-match press conference, Spalletti highlighted the threat posed by Osimhen, who has already netted six goals in six Champions League appearances this season.
“Let me explain Osimhen and Icardi to you like this. Two footballers who will create the encyclopaedia of the number 9″,” he said at the pre-match conference.
”Both Osimhen and Icardi are extremely strong players. As strikers, they know how to behave in the penalty area. One creates chaos, the other knows how to take advantage of that chaos well,” he added.
Osimhen has continued his fine form for Nigeria, helping the team secure bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He played in all six matches, scoring four goals and providing four assists under coach Eric Chelle.
At the club level, the 27-year-old has scored nine goals in 16 league appearances in the current Turkish Süper Lig season, underscoring his consistent scoring threat for Galatasaray.
