Mikel Arteta was full of praise for Eberechi Eze after Arsenal’s 4-0 FA Cup victory over Wigan Athletic, highlighting the playmaker’s bravery and quality in the final third.
“Yes, some superb balls and his intentions, I think the risk that he took in the final third, the amount of shots that he tried to take as well, I think that’s really positive. That’s what we want from him,” Arteta said, delighted with Eze’s willingness to keep trying decisive actions.
The Arsenal boss stressed how important it is for creative players like Eze to feel they are consistently producing match-changing moments.
“That’s what those players need, those moments and especially when we talk about the creative players, they need to feel that they are producing those moments and I’m very happy with that,” he added. Arteta also reserved praise for Gabriel Jesus, who once again set the tone with his movement and finishing.
Arsenal will turn its attention to its Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on February 18th at the Molineux Stadium.
