Durban City has claimed a 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy under interim manager Pitso Dladla, just days after the club parted ways with former head coach Sinethemba Badela following three league matches.
Dladla, who was recalled to manage the team on an interim basis, immediately delivered results at Chatsworth Stadium, maintaining Durban City’s unbeaten record at home this season.
The win marks a repeat of a scenario observers noted last December, when he successfully took over following the departure of Gavin Hunt, leading the team to a victory against Orbit College in his debut as interim manager.
“When you’re needed, you give your best and you leave your mark,” Dladla said after the game. “It’s just a job; it’s about understanding the role of a coach and playing the game as it should be played.
All I can say is that maybe you also need to have a good heart—blessings come when you’re given an opportunity.”
Dladla has a track record of success in South African football, having contributed to the club’s Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign alongside Simo Dladla before the latter moved to AmaZulu.
