Youssef En-Nesyri has finally announced his arrival in the Saudi Pro League, scoring his first league goal for Al-Ittihad in just his second appearance in the competition.
The Moroccan striker found the back of the net during Al-Ittihad’s clash against Al-Fayha at Al-Inma Stadium in the twenty-second round of the Saudi Roshan League. En-Nesyri opened the scoring in the 35th minute, rising highest to head home a well-delivered corner kick from Malian midfielder Mamadou Doumbia.
The goal marked En-Nesyri’s first in the Saudi league since joining Al-Ittihad, following a quiet debut in the competition during the club’s 2-0 defeat to Al-Nassr in the previous round. His latest strike underlined his growing influence in the squad as he continues to settle into Saudi football.
In all competitions, the goal against Al-Fayha was En-Nesyri’s second for Al-Ittihad. He previously got off the mark with a goal in the emphatic 7-0 victory over Al-Gharafa of Qatar in the league stage of the AFC Champions League Elite earlier in the week.
Al-Ittihad secured En-Nesyri’s services during the winter transfer window, bringing him in from Fenerbahçe as a replacement for French striker Karim Benzema, who departed the club after terminating his contract.
The Moroccan forward’s latest goal is expected to boost his confidence as he aims to play a central role in Al-Ittihad’s push for success in the remainder of the season.
