Zamalek face a do-or-die encounter against Kaizer Chiefs as they chase a place in the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Egyptian giants will host the South African side at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in the sixth and final round of Group D, with kick-off scheduled for Saturday, February 14, at 6:00 pm Cairo time.

Victory is the only route to the last eight for Zamalek, who currently sit second in the group with eight points, two behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs on 10 points.

Any result other than a win would see the White Knights exit the competition at the group stage.

Head coach Moataz Gamal is targeting another deep continental run, having previously guided Zamalek to the quarter-finals of the African Championship during the 2023/24 season.

In that campaign, his side secured early qualification after recording three wins and a draw from four group matches.

Gamal later served as interim head coach before handing over to Jose Gomes, who went on to complete Zamalek’s Confederation Cup journey and lift the trophy.

Now back at the helm, the 52-year-old is determined to overcome Kaizer Chiefs and keep Zamalek’s title ambitions alive, as the Cairo club looks to script another memorable chapter in its continental history.
