Cairo’s Zamalek clinched victory against Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in a thrilling penalty shootout after their semifinal clash in the Challenge Cup Friendly Tournament.
The encounter kicked off with intense pressure from Zamalek players, eager to score the opening goal against Raja Casablanca.
In the 3rd minute, Mahmoud Hamdi El Wensh successfully netted the first goal for Zamalek.
The White Knights continued their scoring spree, with Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala finding the net in the 7th minute.
The first half showcased a stellar performance by Mohamed Awad, ensuring a clean sheet and concluding the half with Zamalek leading 2-0.
Raja Casablanca staged a comeback in the second half, securing their first goal through a penalty by Yassir Buzouk, narrowing the gap against Zamalek.
In the 87th minute, Raja Casablanca was awarded another penalty after a foul by Zamalek’s Nabil Emad Donga, and Noufel Zrhouni successfully converted it.
