Al-Masry emerged victorious against El Gouna with a 2-1 scoreline in the final group stage match of the League Cup, securing their place in the quarterfinals.
The goals for Al-Masry came courtesy of Mohamed El Shami and Mido Gaber in the 40th and 45th minutes, respectively.
El Gouna responded with a solitary goal by Mohamed El Sabahi in the 69th minute, following an exquisite cross from Hossam Ghanem on the right side of the penalty area, met by El Shami’s powerful strike.
In the second match of the day, Banque Misr secured a last-minute 1-0 victory against Arab Contractors, thanks to a goal by Ibrahim Hassan in the 96th minute.
The defeat resulted in both teams bidding farewell to the tournament.
