Al Ahly head coach Jess Thorup is set to meet with midfielder Emam Ashour before the team resumes group training.
Ashour was slapped with a suspension and a heavy fine after failing to travel to Ahly teammates for their CAF Champions League game against Young Africans.
He is expected to return to training tomorrow, marking the end of his suspension and a reintegration into the squad.
Thorup plans a private session with the midfielder to ensure he is mentally ready to participate in upcoming matches.
The coach will also review a report from the club’s physical conditioning staff, who oversaw Ashour’s training during his time away.
The meeting comes ahead of Al Ahly’s final group-stage clash against AS FAR in the CAF Champions League.
Sources indicate that while Ashour is likely to be included in the matchday squad, he may not start, instead serving as a strategic option from the bench.
With Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet unavailable, Thorup is keen on having Ashour available for the next game against Raja Casablanca, highlighting his importance to the team’s plans.
