Cameroonian international Jean Florent Batoum has taken a decisive step in his career after completing a move to Polish top-flight side KS Cracovia, opening a new chapter away from the Israeli Premier League.
Despite being under contract with FC Ashdod until June 2027, the 23-year-old centre forward opted for a fresh challenge in Europe, choosing to continue his development in Poland’s Ekstraklasa. Following successful negotiations between all parties, Batoum has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with KS Cracovia.
The agreement also includes an option to extend the contract by a further year, underlining the club’s confidence in the striker’s potential and long-term value. Cracovia view Batoum as an important addition to their attacking unit as they look to strengthen their squad for upcoming domestic campaigns.
Batoum arrives in Poland after an impressive spell with FC Ashdod, where he was one of the club’s standout performers in the Israeli top flight. Before his departure, the Cameroonian forward registered five goals and two assists in 20 league appearances, showcasing his ability to contribute consistently in the final third.
A product of Cameroonian football, Batoum previously featured for Dynamo Douala and Colombe Sportive, where his performances earned him a move abroad and eventually international recognition. His switch to KS Cracovia marks only the second league outside Cameroon in his professional career, highlighting a steady progression at just 23 years of age.
As he settles into his new surroundings, Batoum will be eager to make an immediate impact in the Ekstraklasa and continue building momentum in what promises to be an important phase of his career.
