Al Ahly have begun preparations to extend and revise the contracts of key players, with first-team duo Mohamed Hany and Taher Mohamed Taher at the forefront.
A club source revealed, “Al Ahly has largely decided to open discussions on extending and amending the contracts of Mohamed Hany and Taher Mohamed Taher. Their current deals run until 2027, so the club wants to address the matter proactively.”
On the pitch, Al Ahly returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Ismaily at Borg El Arab Stadium in the postponed fourteenth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The Red Devils took the lead in the 31st minute through Tunisian forward Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan.
Before halftime, Yassin Marei doubled the advantage in the 43rd minute, converting a precise cross from Ashraf Bencharki after the ball deflected off an Ismaily defender.
The win earned Al Ahly three points, moving them to 30 points and third place in the league standings as they continue to chase the leaders.
Ismaily, meanwhile, remain at the bottom with 10 points.
Al Ahly now turn their attention to continental action, preparing to face the AS FAR team in the sixth round of the CAF Champions League group stage on Sunday at 6 p.m.
