Norwegian side SK Brann have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of highly rated Nigerian winger Chinedu Ononogbo from Right2Win Football Club.
The 18-year-old attacker has signed a long-term contract running until 2029, marking a significant step in his burgeoning career and opening a new chapter in European football. Brann see Ononogbo as a player with immense potential, capable of developing into a key asset for the club in the coming years.
Known for his pace, flair, and direct attacking style, Ononogbo has attracted attention with his performances at youth level in Nigeria, earning him the opportunity to test himself in one of Scandinavia’s most competitive leagues.
The move to Norway represents not only a footballing challenge but also a major life transition for the teenager, who is leaving his home country for the first time.
Speaking after completing the transfer, Ononogbo expressed gratitude and determination as he begins his journey with the Bergen-based club.
“I am incredibly happy for this opportunity, and will do everything I can to take good care of it. It is not an easy life in Nigeria, so this is a great opportunity for me,” Ononogbo told the club’s official website.
SK Brann officials believe the winger’s hunger, background, and raw talent align perfectly with the club’s philosophy of nurturing young players and helping them grow both on and off the pitch. He is expected to initially adapt to the club’s system and culture before pushing for a regular place in the first team.
For Ononogbo, the move offers a chance to showcase his abilities on a bigger stage and continue his development in a structured European environment, with the long-term aim of making a lasting impact at SK Brann and beyond.
