Hossam El-Mandouh, treasurer of Zamalek SC, has emphasized the crucial role of fan support as the club navigates a challenging period, insisting the team remains capable of claiming three titles this season.
Zamalek is set to face Smouha on Wednesday in the Premier League before taking on Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday in a decisive Confederation Cup clash.
Speaking to ON Sport, El-Mandouh acknowledged the club’s struggles, including injuries and a congested schedule, but expressed confidence in the squad’s resilience.
“Despite the difficult circumstances, the team is showing it can overcome all challenges,” he said.
He called on supporters to rally behind the team, particularly ahead of the Kaizer Chiefs encounter.
“This match is an opportunity to unite all Zamalek fans. Solidarity is essential if we are to reach the Confederation Cup quarter-finals and remain in contention for the title,” he added.
Addressing the club’s broader situation, El-Mandouh admitted the path has been tough.
“Zamalek is facing hard times, and we must confront every challenge. Walking away would be the easier option, but since taking responsibility, we’ve known the difficulties and implemented plans—some of which have already succeeded,” he said, reflecting on past financial and administrative hurdles.
He stressed the need for continued fan trust and stability.
“Zamalek depends on the support of its fans. Stability is the key to the club’s survival,” he said, concluding with a message of unity and ambition: “We are all in the same boat. We are competing for three championships, and, God willing, we will win them.”
