Al-Hilal supporters were left concerned in recent hours after Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou was noticeably absent from the club’s training sessions.
The unexpected development quickly sparked speculation among fans of the Saudi giants.
Bounou has been a key figure for Al-Hilal since joining the club in the summer of 2023 from Spanish side Sevilla, establishing himself as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the squad.
His absence, therefore, raised immediate questions about his fitness.
The club moved swiftly to address the situation, with Al-Hilal’s official account on the “X” social media platform confirming that the goalkeeper underwent a treatment session focused on his shoulder.
The update reassured fans that the absence was precautionary rather than the result of a serious issue.
During the ongoing 2025/2026 Saudi Pro League season, Bounou has featured in 12 matches for Al-Hilal, recording six clean sheets. He has also maintained a save success rate of 65 per cent, underlining his continued importance as one of the league’s standout shot stoppers.
