Manchester United secured a confident 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, with Bryan Mbeumo opening the scoring before Bruno Fernandes sealed the win, while Spurs were reduced to ten men after Cristian Romero’s first-half dismissal.
Mbeumo expressed his delight after the game, highlighting the importance of the win and the positive atmosphere at United’s home ground.
“Obviously very happy. We are all happy to win games, especially here. It’s a lot of good vibes and good atmosphere here, really happy,” he said.
The striker reflected on how the team’s preparation and hard work paid off, noting that the victory was a product of collective effort.
“Obviously it is something we want to work hard at in training and it worked out. I think the most important was the win today. Really happy with this,” Mbeumo added.
Mbeumo also praised interim manager Michael Carrick, crediting his understanding of the club and experience in guiding the squad.
“I think he has the experience of the club. We’ve been better than we are at the start of the season, which I don’t think was that bad. Now, we still work really hard as a team. Make the effort together and it has paid off,” he said.
Looking ahead, Mbeumo stressed the team’s ambition to secure European football next season.
“Manchester United needs to play European football. We are going to try and achieve this and finish as high as possible,” he added, underlining the Red Devils’ intent to sustain momentum under Carrick’s guidance.
With the victory over Tottenham, United move closer to their European qualification goals, buoyed by improved performances and a growing sense of confidence across the squad.
