Bayern Munich have played down reports linking the club with a move for highly rated Tanzanian teenager Nimfasha Berchimas, insisting that no transfer is currently being considered.
The German champions are often associated with emerging international talents, and Berchimas has recently been mentioned in connection with a possible switch to Munich. However, indications suggest that a deal is far from materialising.
Contrary to earlier claims, FC Bayern are not pursuing the 17-year-old attacking player at this time. While The Athletic previously reported that talks were at an advanced stage, the BILD podcast Bayern-Insider has since clarified that Berchimas is presently “not an issue for Bayern,” both in terms of the first team and at training ground level.
Despite this, the left winger is not completely unfamiliar to the club. Around three years ago, Berchimas took part in a trial session with Bayern and later had a similar opportunity at Manchester United.
Berchimas has largely built his reputation through his performances with United States youth teams, catching the eye on the international stage.
He further underlined his potential by scoring two goals at the most recent U20 World Cup, performances that helped fuel the recent transfer speculation.
