Senegal international Krépin Diatta is facing an uncertain future at AS Monaco as he nears contract expiration at the club.
The 26-year-old versatile player, whose contract expires at the end of the season has yet to sign a new deal for the Principality club, raising concerns about his future.
Despite his exploits with the Senegal national team at the AFCON 2025, Diatta, capable of playing on the wing or at full-back, continues to play a bit-part role at club level.
He has made just 13 appearances for AS Monaco in all competitions this season, and he is facing an uncertain situation, with his contract up in June 2026.
At the press conference, the Chief Executive Officer of Monaco, Thiago Scuro revealed his side has yet to open talks with Diatta regarding contract renewal.
“We are not talking about an extension at the moment. We are very focused on the club’s situation,” began Scuro.
He continued, “We hope that he will have more of an impact and more minutes on the pitch. After that, we will decide together. It isn’t just a club decision. It is also the player’s choice. At the right time, we will talk.”
Due to his contract situation, Diatta is currently permitted to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club.
The Senegal star joined Monaco in 2021 and established himself as a key member of the team before recent struggles.
