Nigeria international, Olisa Ndah has found a new home by joining Libyan side Al Shomooa, drawing the curtain on his time in South African football.
The Super Eagles centre-back joins Al Shomooa on a free transfer following the mutual termination of his contract with Orlando Pirates, one of South Africa’s most decorated clubs.
With both parties agreeing to part ways, Ndah has opted for a new challenge in North Africa, signing a one-and-a-half-year contract with the Libyan outfit as he looks to relaunch and stabilise his club career.
Ndah’s move brings an end to a notable spell with the Buccaneers, where he spent several seasons building a reputation as a reliable and commanding presence at the heart of defence. After arriving at Orlando Pirates, the 25-year-old quickly adapted to the demands of top-flight football in the Premier Soccer League, earning the trust of successive coaches with his composure, physicality, and tactical awareness.
During his time at the Soweto-based club, Ndah featured prominently in domestic competitions, making 51 league appearances and playing a key role in Pirates’ defensive structure. His contributions were instrumental in several strong domestic campaigns, as he helped the club remain competitive on multiple fronts.
Now in Libya, Ndah will be hoping the move to Al Shomooa provides the platform to rediscover consistent game time and push himself back into contention at the highest level. For the Libyan club, the arrival of an experienced international defender represents a significant boost as they strengthen their squad ahead of upcoming domestic challenges.
As he turns the page on his South African chapter, Ndah’s focus will be firmly fixed on making an immediate impact in Libya and proving that this latest move can reignite the upward trajectory of his career.
