Karim Benzema’s switch to Al Hilal could change the path awaiting Mohamed Salah in the Saudi Pro League, as the Liverpool star weighs up his next big decision.
Al Hilal announced the French striker on a free transfer, handing him a one-and-a-half-season deal after his contract with Al Ittihad was terminated.
Portuguese outlet Abola reports that Al Ittihad have now identified Salah as their primary target for the summer window, aiming to make him the new face of the club after losing Benzema to their fierce rivals.
Salah has been consistently linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in recent years, especially at the end of last season, before he extended his Liverpool contract through 2027.
Recently, speculation around Al Hilal intensified when Saudi entertainment chief Turki Al-Sheikh shared a designed image of Salah in the famous blue shirt, though that narrative may shift following Benzema’s arrival.
The Egyptian forward also appears closer than ever to a Liverpool exit after a public flare-up with coach Arne Slot in December, even if the situation has since calmed on the surface.
