Al Ahly winger Ahmed Abdelkader has confirmed his exit from the Egyptian giants during this winter transfer window.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Abdelkader reflected on his time at the club: “In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Today my relationship with Al-Ahly Club has ended after a journey that lasted more than five years, full of memories and events. Thank you to the great Al-Ahly club, its president, its players, and its board of directors. Thank you to the Al-Ahly fans. May God grant success and assistance.”
During his spell at the Red Castle, Abdelkader made 123 appearances across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 12 assists.
The 24-year-old Egypt international is now reportedly linked with a move to Iraqi side Al-Karma, according to Iraq Stars League transfer listings.
Born on May 23, 1999, in Cairo, Abdelkader stands 1.80m tall and plays primarily as an attacking left winger, though he often cuts inside on his stronger right foot.
His career includes spells with Smouha SC in Egypt, AC Sparta Prague B in the Czech Republic, and Qatar SC.
