Manchester City prospect Divine Mukasa has completed a loan move to Leicester City, aiming to gain vital first-team experience in the Championship.
The 18-year-old, who progressed through the youth academies of West Ham United and Manchester City, is taking his first significant step into senior football with the Foxes, who are currently seeking to climb from 16th in the league table.
Mukasa made his senior debut in a pre-season friendly against Palermo in August 2025 and has since impressed at Manchester City’s Under-21 level, prompting Pep Guardiola to sanction the temporary move.
Speaking about his switch, the young forward expressed excitement at the challenge ahead. “I’m really pleased to be here and grateful for the opportunity. This is a great environment for me to learn, gain experience and continue my development,” Mukasa said.
“I want to work hard every day, take on everything I can from the staff and players around me, and contribute wherever I’m able to help the team.”
The teenager has already shown prolific form in youth football this season. At Under-21 level, he has scored seven goals in 13 appearances, while across the Under-18 Premier League, UEFA Youth League, and FA Youth Cup, he has accumulated 17 goals and 24 assists in 34 outings.
These performances underline his potential to adapt quickly to senior football, though the step up to the Championship will provide a stern test under Leicester manager Martí Cifuentes.
Leicester will hope Mukasa’s pace, creativity, and goal-scoring ability can provide fresh impetus as they aim to climb the league table.
For the City academy graduate, the move represents a key learning experience, offering him a platform to develop his skills in a competitive environment while making the transition from youth to senior football.
Guardiola will monitor his progress closely, with the hope that the loan spell accelerates Mukasa’s growth and prepares him for a future at the highest level.
