Al-Ittihad are edging closer to completing the signing of Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri, with only one final step reportedly standing in the way of sealing the deal this season.
Renowned Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu revealed on his X account that administrative processes are nearing completion.
“Fenerbahce has submitted the documents related to N’Golo Kante’s transfer to FIFA’s Transfer Matching System and is awaiting approval.
“As for the federation, it is waiting for the completion of the procedures for Youssef En-Nesyri’s transfer to its ranks,” he said.
Sabuncuoglu also noted that both clubs were granted an additional deadline to conclude the transfer after the official close of the winter transfer window, allowing negotiations and paperwork to continue beyond the usual timeframe.
Earlier, the Turkish journalist had suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo was responsible for delays affecting several Saudi Pro League transfers. According to him, the Al-Nassr star “intervened to block Karim Benzema’s transfer to Al-Hilal, and as a result, N’Golo Kante has not yet signed with Fenerbahce, and Youssef En-Nesyri’s transfer to Al-Ittihad has not yet been completed.”
However, Sabuncuoglu has since provided a fresh update indicating significant progress. He confirmed that Kante has successfully passed his medical examination with the Turkish giants, while Benzema has officially completed his move to Al-Hilal, developments that have unlocked progress in all previously stalled negotiations.
With those obstacles now cleared, Al-Ittihad appear poised to finalise En-Nesyri’s move, bringing the transfer one step closer to completion.
