Saudi giants Al Ittihad have opened negotiations with Moroccan striker Youssef En Nesyri as the club explores attacking options to replace Karim Benzema.
The Fenerbahce forward has emerged as a key target for the Jeddah-based side, with respected transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming that discussions are currently underway.
According to the report, Al-Ittihad’s interest in the Moroccan international is directly linked to uncertainty surrounding Karim Benzema’s future at the club.
Negotiations with En Nesyri are understood to be taking place as a contingency plan should Benzema depart, following reports of the French striker’s dissatisfaction with a proposed contract renewal and growing speculation linking him with a move to Al Hilal.
Al Ittihad are keen to secure a proven goalscorer to lead the line if Benzema exits, and En Nesyri’s profile has made him an attractive option. The striker is currently on the books of Turkish side Fenerbahce, where he remains under contract until the summer of 2029.
Any potential move would require significant talks given the length of En Nesyri’s deal, but Al-Ittihad’s early approach signals their intent to be proactive as the transfer window progresses.
