Juventus director Giorgio Chiellini is wary of Victor Osimhen threat ahead of their crucial Champions League playoff.
Both teams fell short in automatic qualification and are set to battle it out for a slot in the last 16 in high-stake playoff scheduled for February 2026, with the tie set to be decided across Istanbul and Turin.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Chiellini praised Galatasaray’s overall quality, not just their star striker. “It’s a strong team with great individuals… We all know Victor Osimhen well, but there are other important players too,” he said.
Asked about marking Osimhen, Chiellini said, “At one time, I would have liked to mark him… but today I wouldn’t last two minutes.”
Osimhen heads into the tie in superb form, with seven league goals and six Champions League strikes this season.
The bulky attacker completed a permanent switch to the Turkish giants last summer following an impressive loan spell two seasons ago. The Nigerian international will have to come to the party if Galatasaray should qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
Osimhen played a pivotal role for the Super Eagles at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, where his outfit secured a bronze medal after defeating Egypt in the third place clash.
