AC Milan are said to be exploring the possibility of adding France-born Ivorian forward Evann Guessand to their squad as the winter transfer window gathers pace.
With clubs across Serie A actively searching for attacking reinforcements, the transfer market has become increasingly lively, and Milan are among the sides assessing several options to bolster their frontline.
In the latest developments, Jean Philippe Mateta appears close to completing a move to AC Milan, a situation that has forced Juventus to rethink their recruitment plans once again.
According to renowned transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bianconeri have now turned their attention to Evann Guessand, whose name has emerged as a potential alternative under consideration.
Guessand, born in 2001, joined Aston Villa last summer in a €35 million move after departing French side Nice.
Since arriving in England, the winger has registered two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions, accumulating 1,207 minutes of playing time this season.
Juventus are reportedly attempting a late intervention in the deal, but Crystal Palace are believed to be well-positioned in the race for the Ivorian forward.
The London club is eager to strengthen its squad in anticipation of Mateta’s likely move to Milan, while Juventus hope to disrupt Palace’s plans following their own setback in the pursuit of the striker.
