Bayer Leverkusen are pushing to secure the signature of highly rated French Senegalese defender Noham Kamara from Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer window closes.
According to reports from fussballtransfers.com, the Bundesliga side are currently leading the race for the 19-year-old central defender, with talks progressing as Leverkusen look to strengthen their defensive options. Kamara has emerged as a priority target after Leverkusen failed in their pursuit of Abdoul Koné from Stade Reims, who is now close to joining RB Leipzig.
Sources indicate that both PSG and the player are open to a move before Monday evening’s deadline, despite Kamara being under contract with the Parisian club until 2028. The young defender has found first-team opportunities limited at PSG, making just three senior appearances despite being part of the Champions League-winning squad.
A switch to Leverkusen is seen as an attractive option for Kamara, as it would offer increased playing time and a clearer route into regular first-team football. His development has also caught the attention of other clubs, with Racing Strasbourg and Olympique Lyon monitoring his situation.
As negotiations continue, Leverkusen remain hopeful of finalising the deal in time, viewing Kamara as a long-term investment with the potential to grow into a key figure in their defensive line.
