Al-Ahly has confirmed the loan move of Slovenian striker Nejc Gradiscar to Hungarian side Újpest for six months.
The Egyptian club’s official statement revealed that Újpest has the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the loan period.
Gradiscar joined Al-Ahly just a year ago, arriving from Hungarian club Fehervar during the January 2025 transfer window.
His exit comes amid coach Jess Torup’s doubts over his impact, with the club reportedly close to signing Norwegian striker Ailten Kamwiss from Tromsø as his replacement.
This season, Gradiscar featured in 20 games for Al-Ahly, scoring six goals and providing one assist across all competitions.
Overall, the 23-year-old made 41 appearances for the Red Devils, netting 11 goals and contributing six assists.
