Borussia Dortmund have reportedly presented Karim Adeyemi with a new contract offer that does not include a release clause, as the club looks to secure the future of the German forward of Nigerian descent.
Despite a season marked by inconsistent performances and off-pitch issues, Dortmund’s hierarchy remains keen on extending Adeyemi’s stay at the club. BVB officials are said to be determined to avoid inserting a release clause into any new agreement.
According to Sport Bild, Dortmund have already made a concrete proposal to Adeyemi. While the player is believed to favour the inclusion of a release clause, the current offer excludes such a provision. However, the club could reconsider if Adeyemi’s representatives strongly push for it.
The situation contrasts with Dortmund’s recent stance on Nico Schlotterbeck. Reports from Bild suggest BVB are now open to accepting a 60 million euro release clause should Schlotterbeck agree to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2027.
Dortmund are eager to avoid the risk of Adeyemi leaving on a free transfer in 2027, making a contract extension or a sale the preferred outcomes.
The player’s readiness to commit without a release clause remains uncertain, particularly as he has previously hinted at a potential exit.
Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs reportedly monitoring the 24-year-old forward
