Morocco international Ayoub El Kaabi has emerged as a top transfer target for French Ligue 1 duo of Nantes and Angers following an outstanding performance at the recently concluded 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
El Kaabi was one of the standout performers for the Atlas Lions, who finished second at the tournament after succumbing to a narrow defeat to Senegal in the final.
The forward, who plies his trade for Greek club Olympiacos gained prominence at the tournament, scoring two crucial overhead kick goals for the North African country.
His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, with several European clubs expressing huge interest in the talented attacker.
Both Nantes and Angers have identified El Kaabi, whose market value is estimated at around €5 million, as a suitable and high-quality option to bolster their attacking options during the winter transfer window.
Despite the growing interest from French Ligue 1 clubs, El Kaabi is not in a haste to move in the current window. Per reports, the forward is happy in Greece and is focused on maintaining his form and his place in the starting lineup for Morocco ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
El Kaabi’s commitment makes an immediate move to France unlikely, amidst ongoing speculation about his departure.
Thanks to his speed, excellent positioning, and finishing ability, El Kaabi has become a standout player, attracting the attention of several European clubs looking to bolster their attacking options at a reasonable transfer fee. For Nantes and Angers, signing El Kaabi would represent an opportunity to add proven international experience to their squads.
